Making Disciples of All Nations

Small Groups

"Though we all have to enter upon discipleship, alone, we do not remain alone. If we take him at his word and dare to become individuals, our reward is the fellowship of the Church." – Bonhoeffer, Dietrich, The Cost of Discipleship.

What Are ChristCare Groups? ChristCare Groups are gatherings of 5–12 people that usually meet once a week or twice monthly usually for about 60–90 minutes. ChristCare Groups are led by a trained ChristCare Group Leader and do four basic activities: (1) community building and care, (2) Biblical Equipping, (3) prayer and worship, and (4) missional service. These four key elements, with varying degrees of emphasis, ensure that a small group stays on track and Christ-centered.

Good Shepherd members and friends have the opportunity to join a group of caring people for Bible study, friendship, worship, prayer, and mission work.  Now is the time to join one of our groups as they begin their fall meetings.  Two groups meet in homes.  Lance and Flo Hofman host and lead a group in their home on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 7 pm at 751 Olivia Ct., FWB.  They will be studying the video series, “What’s so Amazing About Grace?”  Their first session is Sept. 21.  Give them a call at 796-0949 if you have questions or want to join.

Jon Anderson leads a group at the Riemers’ home every Tuesday.  They are doing “The Truth Project.”  Call Jon at 582-9140.

Nancy Johnson is leading a group that begins Sept. 20 in the Education Building.  They will meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 6:30 pm.  The Bible study is “Colossians:  Navigating Successfully Through Cultural Chaos.”    Call Nancy at 862-6946.

Louise Gilman’s group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 6:30 pm in the Education Building.  They start THIS Sunday (Sept 13) evening with the Bible study, “Critical Decisions:  Surviving in Today’s World”.  Call Louise at 678-2341.

Nat Anderson is a flexible person who is willing to lead a group on any evening but Wednesdays.  If you’d like to be in a group but the first four don’t meet your schedule, call Nat at 678-1211 and talk to her.

Now is the time!  Please join us in our ChristCare small group ministry.  If you have questions call the individual leaders or Louise Gilman at 678-2341 or email lougi2001@cox.net
